13 meaningful, candy-free Catholic Easter gifts

  1. Paint by Numbers kit (6), $30: How amazing that from the beginning of creation God set the seasons so that Easter, the celebration of return to life, would occur in spring? This set of six panels offers the satisfaction of screen-free creating, plus you get something beautiful.

  2. Gold crown ring, $60: This solid gold ring would make a special gift that nods to the crown of thorns becoming a crown of victory over death.

  3. Bronze bow candle holder, $15: Something practical and beautiful is right on target for Catholic gifts. This beautiful artisan-style holder looks great with a special taper or on its own as a reminder of God’s gift of His Son.

  4. XL organic linen bread bag, $8: Isn’t there something perpetually appealing about pretty textiles? Tuck a loaf of Easter bread inside this beautiful linen bag that they can reuse. You can choose a traditional Easter bread from almost any culture (hurray #universalchurch).

  5. Marble tea light holders (3), $38: These beautiful, heavyweight marble holders remind me of the empty tomb. Pair with a set of organic beeswax tea lights for a special sacramental gift (bees are mentioned several times in the Exsultet at the Easter vigil).

  6. Jesus night light, $15: The darkness has not overcome! This sweet night light also makes a great Baptism or First Communion gift.

  7. Paper mache fillable eggs set w paint (12), $13: I’m admittedly an old soul, but I love these paintable eggs a bazillion times more than plastic. They feel substantial and “old world,” plus you get at least an hour of a meaningful family activity. Spend Holy Saturday painting them, then fill them with treats or small prayer intentions. You could even gift them as a spiritual bouquet to a loved one.

  8. Taper candles (4), $18: For many light-themed reasons, candles make an ideal Easter gift. This set features an unexpectedly beautiful shape that functions as an easy centerpiece.

  9. Little Jesus figurines (20), $5: Hear me out: young people love popping these tiny Jesus figurines in random public places—I’ve found them in airport bathrooms, car bumpers, and shopping carts—because everyone needs a little Jesus. Get it? Gift a pack of these with instructions to share the Good News.

  10. Resurrection scene stickers (40 sheets), $12: What’s more fun than one sticker sheet? Fifty! Little hands will love peeling and sticking together the Resurrection scene while you tell the story. They'd also be a great activity for your Easter liturgy bag. And don’t underestimate the power of stickers for older tweens and teens who love plastering their water bottles and device cases. This pack also works great for classrooms.

  11. Ankle ruffle socks (6), $15: Socks are permanently, forever, failsafe gifts. I love these well-made cotton pairs that sit at exactly the right height with a subtle ruffle that adds a lot of style.

  12. Resurrection creche set, $14: This decor set is like a Christmas nativity creche, but presents the empty tomb instead. Gift to college students in a dorm, young adults in a first apartment, newlyweds, an elderly relative, or each one of your children to set on their dressers through the Pascal season.

  13. Resurrection eggs story set (12), $28: Here’s your new Holy Week family tradition. Each egg contains a tiny figurine related to Jesus’ Passion—a donkey, a crown of thorns, a stone. Open them each night at dinner and talk about the story to make Holy Week deeply impactful. The set also comes with downloads for tons of Easter-related coloring sheets, activities, and recipes.
