I'm bursting like a little rosebud to announce that starting Sunday, Thy Ship will be running a very special series of daily novena prayers and reflections throughout the nine days before October 1, the feast of St Thérèse of Lisieux. You can pray along each day as we approach her feast.
Thérèse is our family's patron, as well as the patron and namesake of this blog and newsletter. She's a close heavenly sister for many personal reasons that I will share over the coming days.
Along the way, I will also share our family's Little Way novena traditions that are great for all ages. We'll wrap it all together with meaningful ideas for celebrating her feast, her best quotes, and our favorite books about her life and Little Way.
Come back for so. much. goodness. You can subscribe here so you don't miss any of it!
For today, let's get ready with a harvest of rose-themed items to level up the celebration.
French rose mints: These are a French classic and a fun way to connect with Thérèse's native culture.
Cookie mold: Make stunningly beautiful cookies with this wooden cookie mold that produces more elevated results than flimsy cookie cutters; it also looks gorgeous on display in your kitchen.
Organic rose syrup: Whatever you can do with lavender, you can do with rose. Add this delicately sweet syrup to cocktails, lattes, tea, smoothies, or ice cream.
Rose print socks: What else would you wear October 1? Even the men in your life could enjoy un petit peek of roses.
Rose print tablecloth: Add this lovely, vintage-vibes tablecloth to your feast day kitchen, dining room, or prayer table. This other pretty option has a block-print cabbage rose motif.
Rose candle: How gorgeous is this glass jar that you can save and reuse after you're finished enjoying the clean rose fragrance? This one is also beautiful and unique.
French rose hand cream: This is my favorite hand cream that also comes in several other natural, pretty scents; I always keep one in my bag.
Organic vanilla rose tea: Brew a cup of this tea to sip while you pray your daily novena.
Rose cupcake toppers: How sweet would these be atop some chocolate feast day cupcakes?
Rose tea cups with saucers (6): I love that these bone china teacups and saucers are all different colors for easily tracking whose cup is whose.
Pop up rose bouquet: I love giving these paper rose bouquets as gifts—people are utterly delighted by the joyful surprise, and they last longer than fresh flowers (forever!).
Rose drop earrings: These would make a sweet gift for a Thérèse namesake or devotee (including yourself). These silver studs are also cute. Also: if you really want to go for it, maybe these hilariously ginormous rose earrings?
Rose print party service for 24: This party pack includes cups, plates, utensils, napkins, and cups—all with a lovely rose print for setting a festive tone.
Lego roses: This set would be a fun, hands-on way to connect kids with Thérèse or make a sweet gift for her feast.
