You know how sometimes you start repeatedly encountering a particular thing? A fashion trend, white cars, a certain song, whatever—sometimes a particular thing just seems to appear everywhere you go. A few years ago, we consecrated our family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and ever since, I can't stop running into the Sacred Heart: a statue here, a plaque there, in major cathedrals and teeny chapels, at home and around the world.
I don't think it's just coincidence. What is the world more hungry for than unconditional, sacrificial love? The Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most tender images in our Catholic tradition: a heart both wounded to save us and burning with personal, passionate love.
