Something beautiful: a lake before levees

Whenever I'm at NOMA, I love studying this charming window into the past. I have stood on these same shores hundreds of times, and I like trying to guess whether this painting shows the same places. I wonder what the people who built this modest cabin would think about what these shores look like now.
