Le Talisman, l'Aven au Bois d'Amour, Paul Sérusier, 1888

Sometimes abstract art seems random and meaningless, until you see the title: here, "the woods of love." The Bois d'Amour is a wooded area on Brittany, France, favored by French artists of the post-Impressionist era. Do you see the tree trunks and the reflections on the pond next to them? I love these colors and lines so much. This painting hangs in the Musée D'Orsay in Paris.
