Something beautiful: canals then and now

This bright, soft piece first struck me at the Musée d'Orsay because of the water—just look at that canal! The reflections and texture of the surface water are rendered with perfection.



But I also loved glimpsing how Canal St Martin looked 150 years before I first saw it. This neighborhood is one of Paris' most underrated, yet a personal favorite.
