Something beautiful: roses

Still Life of Roses, Céline Martin, 1892

In connection with our saints of the week: Céline Martin was one of Sts Louis and Zélie's five daughters, the one just above Thérèse. She entered religious life, too, but well after the others. Along with several portraits of her family members, Céline also painted commissioned portraits, saints, Madonnas, and scenes from Lisieux, including the Martin family home and city streetscapes.
