Gift idea guide: Women

  1. 14k gold vermeil hoops, $35: Nothing beats a classic gold hoop; these are a perfect shape and size.  This is another pretty, interesting pair. Add these amazing problem-solvers to give earrings security and lift.

  2. Initial dish, $15: A sweet, pretty dish holds her rings, jewelry, hair ties, rosary, or other bits on her nightstand.

  3. Pocket knife, $23: This attractive tool comes from a heritage brand in France and folds up to just four inches. Opinel offers a wide collection of many other beautiful, durable knives.

  4. Mothers of the Saints: This is one of my favorite books of all time, where I first read about St Zélie Martin and St Margaret of Scotland. It is now out of print, but no worries—you can usually find used copies. I love the very simple, no-frills biographies of about a dozen women who reared future saints or were canonized themselves. The real gem in this book is the end of each chapter, where the author lists several "For Your Life" bullet points of practical applications drawn from these women's lives. This book is also a great gift for wedding or baby showers.

  5. Excellent leggings, $34: These are my favorite leggings for the gym, hiking, chores, and road trips. They are well-made, super comfortable, and durable—an amazing dupe for a very popular, very expensive brand. Choose from extended sizes, one pocket or three, two dozen colors. There’s even a water resistant version. I’d bundle a few pairs as a gift.

  6. Kur nail concealer gift set, $24 or single colors, $14: This is a holy grail nail product for a natural manicure. One quick coat of this liquid magic makes nails look bright, pretty, and more "finished." I usually do one coat on my fingers and two or three on toes. Bonus: it dries super quickly. The gift set offers minis so she can try different colors, or you can give a full size of her favorite color. My favorite is this one. Pair it with this glass "forever" nail file.

  7. Nodpods weighted sleeping mask, $34: Give her a better night's sleep or a great afternoon nap with this weighted eye mask. She probably doesn't know yet how much she needs this, but that's why you're here.

  8. French hand cream, $19 for large size and $10 for the small size: My bag is always stocked with this hand cream that has a great texture and comes in multiple natural scents (I love the lavender, jasmine, and the orange blossom).

  9. Sterling silver rosary bracelet, $18: I like the feminine scale of this Italian-made rosary bracelet that comes gift boxed. To make it even more special, pray a rosary for your gift recipient on it and have it blessed before giving.

  10. Beaded clutch, $85: This intricately-beaded work of art makes a splurgy gift to mark a special event or occasion. I also love the gentle reference to the Sacred Heart. This brand offers more stunning, wildly creative beaded pieces here.

  11. Travel kit, $24: A chic, structured, and roomy travel kit that can hold all her things with satisfying order. The vegan leather is wipe-clean and waterproof, in two dozen color and pattern options (Along with this classic camel, I also love this chic cream version).

  12. Chic pajama set, $28: A good pajama set just makes you feel better. These are wonderful—soft, stretchy, but substantial. I appreciate the details like piping, cuffs, and adjustable tie waist. Choose from nine colors and 12 sizes from XS to 6X.

  13. Stylish hoodie, $33: A deliciously soft cashmere alternative that upgrades her old sweatshirts. Choose from 12 beautiful colors and extended sizes.

  14. Cashmere beanie, $49: A gift that’s about pure delight. This beanie has a beautiful, perfectly flattering shape and comes in 26 gorgeous, subtle colors.

  15. Theology of Home (hardcover), $20: Along with its equally gorgeous follow-ups Volume II, Volume III, and Volume IV, this coffee table book explores the spiritual beauty of homemaking, interior design, and aesthetics with stunning photos and thoughtful reflections. Bundle the full set of four for an amazing gift.

  16. Toups and Company organic skincare products: I can’t live without this frankincense tallow balm. It’s the single organic, nontoxic moisturizer in the entire world that has worked for my face. I love it and could go on and on. A teeny bit goes a long way. My jar lasts about two months with twice daily use. From this small-batch, small business, I also love, use daily, and subscribe to the tinted lip balm and the mineral makeup (a jar lasts me a few months). You can also give gift sets and sample sets. (P.S. They're running a really good 30% off sale right now!)

  17. 18k gold vermeil domed croissant ring, $35: This classic, forever-chic beauty will never go out of style.

A note about Amazon

These links connect mostly to products sold on Amazon. This is not the only place you can buy most of these items, but I set it up this way because of Amazon's ubiquity (everyone I know already has a Prime account). You can also try finding the items you like at other retailers, local shops, or even use these ideas as a springboard to create gifts.
