Something beautiful: Good times rollin'

New Orleans Mardi Gras, Walter Anderson, 1962
New Orleans Mardi Gras, Walter Anderson, 1962

My favorite works of art feature stories told with colors and lines more than photo-realism. This watercolor and ink by a Mississippi artist has always struck me as capturing how parades feel, not just how they look. You can visit this painting and other works by Anderson at his delightful memorial museum on the Gulf Coast.

Have a good, true, and beautiful weekend!
